Four EN 16931 validation errors cleared ahead of France's mandate

The challenge

A multi-billion-euro European manufacturer needed its Dynamics 365 landscape ready for France’s B2B e-invoicing mandate. The deadline was fixed — 1 September 2026 — and the question was the same one every finance team asks: will our invoices actually pass validation when the mandate switches on?

What we did

We validated the company’s e-invoice output against the EN 16931 ruleset and found four validation errors that would have caused rejections downstream. All four were cleared in configuration — no custom code, no upgrade project. We then connected the invoicing flow to the e-invoicing platform the client had already chosen, keeping the architecture on standard Dynamics 365.

The outcome

The estate now shows clean validation results, and the e-invoicing and e-reporting flows are in end-to-end testing ahead of the 1 September 2026 mandate. A regulation change became a configuration task — which is the whole point.
